It was certainly fortuitous that Nike decided to go headlong into the golf business just as Tiger Woods turned pro. Or maybe it was Tiger turning pro that pointed Nike into club and ball making? Regardless, it certainly has worked out well for both of them. Tiger makes millions as one of Nike's primary spokesmen and Nike sells millions of clubs to those of us who want to play like Tiger. At one point, there was some question as to whether Wood's play suffered because the Nike clubs and balls were inferior to his competition. We don't hear much of that anymore.
In addition to Tiger, Stephen Ames, KJ Choi, Chad Campbell, Michelle Wie and Rory Sabbatini (must make for interesting team meetings) all are part of the Nike team.
Nike clubs include the SasQuatch series of drivers; SasQuatch and Ignite fairway woods; CPR "hybrids"; CCi, Slingshot and Ignite irons; Tiger's own "TW" wedges; and wide variety of putters.
